The Firm is committed to ensuring quality services and compliance with relevant laws and regulations that apply to legal practice as well as ensuring risk management.

Membership of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and other Professional/Business Bodies

All the Firm’s Advocates are of good standing with the LSK and hold current practicing certificates. The Advocates who have other professional qualifications such as those who are Certified Secretaries, Arbitrators, Patent Agents, Contract Managers, Notaries Public and Commissioners for Oaths are also in good standing with the relevant professional or regulatory bodies.

The Firm also has membership in business bodies. In this regard, the Firm is currently an active member of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI - https://www.kenyachamber.or.ke).

Tax and other Regulatory Compliance

The Firm is tax compliant and holds a current a tax compliance certificate. The Firm is also compliant with other regulatory requirements, including with the requirements of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). Copies of the current compliance certificates are available on request.

Professional Indemnity Cover and other Insurance

The Firm has a Professional Indemnity Insurance for Kes. 100,000,000/= with AIG Kenya. The value of the indemnity insurance can be enhanced where necessary. A copy of the insurance policy can be availed on request. The Firm also maintains insurance for other risks as well as medical cover for staff.

Business Continuity Plan

The Firm has in place a contingency plan to ensure that its business functions remain available to our staff and client’s even in the event of disaster or disruption. The plan is set out in the Firm’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP).  The BCP provides the framework and guidance to support the Firm to continue and/or promptly restore its critical business functions in the event of a disaster (whether natural or man-made) or other disruptions affecting normal operations. It deals with both protection and restoration of data as well as questions relating to physical disruptions where the Firm’s doors may have to close. A copy of the BCP is available upon request.

Organisational Code and Policies

The Firm has put in place various organisational codes and policies for the effective running of the Firm and to address various risks, including occupational health. The key codes/policies in place include:

  • Anti-bribery and Corruption Prevention Policy;
  • Data Protection and Privacy Policy;
  • Code of Conduct and Ethics;
  • Environmental Sustainability Policy; and
  • Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
