Wangechi is an Associate Partner and the Team Leader of the Legal Innovations and Strategy Practice Group. She also doubles up as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Anza Village. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a qualified Contract Manager, a Patent Agent and a public procurement law practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from The University of Nairobi and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree at The University of Nairobi. She is a Member of the World Commerce and Contracting, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the East Africa Law Society (EALS).
Wangechi focuses on legal nnovations and the application of technology in the practice of law and is the Firm’s liason with various partners in the Legal Tech space. She leads the Firm’s legal innovations and strategy team, which among other initiatives, houses the Start-up Desk, a decicated and tailored service that provides legal support for startups and disruptors as well as the SME Retainer Service (SRS) which provides tailor made legal support to small and medium size enterprise. She is a contract management professional with a focus on contract management technology and is well versed in contract management and procurement. She advises both public sector and private sector clients on setting up and managing contract management systems and processes. Her other practice areas are in broadcasting and telecommunications, commercial law, data protection and privacy, IP and standards. In the area of standards, she was lead Associate when the Firm externally supported the legal function of the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) for a 2 Year period. Wangechi also supports the Firm’s business development function. She previously worked at Safaricom PLC .
